Southern Oregon is home to world-class fishing and rafting rivers, mountains for skiing, biking and hiking, and green valleys that produce award-winning wines. It’s also home to North America’s deepest lake and Oregon’s only National Park, Crater Lake, which graces the back of Oregon’s state quarter. Keep an eye on this blog to keep up with events happening in the area.

Welcome to a new easy-to-use website that includes comprehensive information about recreational opportunities, businesses, natural resources, and events in the area near the northern edge of Upper Klamath Lake.
Produced by the 30-Mile Club, a group of the area’s business owners and volunteers from Fort Klamath, Rocky Point, and Chiloquin, the site is an electronic cousin of the annual award-winning visitor newspaper, Now That I’m Here. Production of the site was funded by a grant from Klamath County for tourism projects.
You’re invited to reference and recommend the site for residents and visitors alike to enjoy the riches of this area. Include this link on your website and in your marketing materials. The logo is attached separately for your use in linking. By coordinating and sharing information, all of Southern Oregon benefits by showing how very much we have to offer. Let us know if you would like us to reciprocate by linking with your site.
We also have an active Facebook fan page, ThingsToDoNearCraterLake. We welcome comments, photos, videos, and other items of interest to potential visitors to our little section of paradise.
Please contact us if you have suggestions or questions.

Artik Creamery
Southern Oregon is now home to Artik Creamery, the only organic artisanal ice cream company between San Francisco and Seattle! We handcraft organic and local ingredients from scratch into some of the best ice cream, sorbets, and non-dairy ice cream anywhere.
We make several flavors weekly and sell our ice cream at Tuesday’s Rogue Valley Growers and Crafters Market in Ashland and Wednesday’s Talent Evening Market (starting June 2). We also do special orders for parties, events, and weddings. We’ve been at the Tuesday Ashland market now for two weeks and have received effusive praise for our products.
You can learn more about us at our website: http://www.artikcreamery.com.
Our flavors the past two weeks have included:
Meyer Lemon w/Candied Lemon Zest Ice Cream (we juice fresh Meyer lemons and candy the lemon zest)
Vanilla Fudge Brownie Ice Cream (with homemade brownies made with local Dagoba chocolate)
Chocolate Ice Cream (two kinds, actually, each made with a different single origin organic Dagoba chocolate)
Cinnamaple Ice Cream (Sumatran cinnamon sweetened with maple)
Kaffir Lime Ice Cream (infused with our very own organically grown kaffir lime for a unique Thai citrus flavor)
Toasted Coconut Non-Dairy Ice Cream (rich, creamy and totally dairy free, sweetened with agave)
Honey Meyer Lemon Sorbet (sparklingly fresh lemon sweetened with local Rogue Valley honey, also dairy-free)
We’ll be announcing the flavors for next Tuesday’s market on Monday and it’s going to be good! I’ll let the cat out of the bag on one of next week’s flavors: we’re doing a very special Hand-Roasted Coffee Ice Cream made with an exceptional organic single origin Bolivian coffee hand-roasted by Noble Coffee Roasting in Ashland.
We always have a non-dairy option too.
Please come by the market and try some truly great ice cream! Directions are on our website: http://artikcreamery.com.
Thanks,
Scott Harding, Owner
